Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter Cheat codes


             Create a backup copy of the icewind.ini file before continuing with 
             the following instructions: 

             1. Edit the icewind.ini file, located in the game's program folder, 
             with a text editor like Notepad. 

             2. Type the line "Cheats=1" under the [Game Options] section of the file. 

             3. During the game hit control + tab to bring up the console window and type the
              following case sensitive line to enable cheat mode: 

             GETYOURCHEATON:EnableCheatKeys(); 


             4. Enter one of the key codes below to activate the corresponding function: 

             Control + J -- move characters to pointer position
             Control + R -- heal or resurrect the selected character or portrait
             Control + Y -- kill monster or NPC with no experience
             Control + 4 -- shows traps by displaying trigger polygons
             Control + 9 -- show character bounding boxes 


             More cheats 
             These codes are identical to the original Icewind Dale. 
             During gameplay, hit control + tab to bring up the console window. Enter the case-sensitive 
             codes below to activate the corresponding function: 

             GETYOURCHEATON:ExploreArea(); -- full map
             GETYOURCHEATON:Hans(); -- teleport party to pointer
             GETYOURCHEATON:SetCurrentXP([number]); -- selected characters receive indicated EXP
             GETYOURCHEATON:AddGold([number]); -- indicated amount of gold added to party's total
             GETYOURCHEATON:Midas(); -- 500 gold added to party's total
             GETYOURCHEATON:FirstAid(); -- 5 healing potions , 5 antidotes, and 1 Scroll of Stone to Flesh
             GETYOURCHEATON:CreateItem([item name]); -- spawn indicated item 



             Reducing difficulty in the hard and insane modes
             Create a backup copy of the icewind.ini file before continuing. 

             1. Edit the icewind.ini file, located in the game's program folder,
             with a text editor like Notepad. 

             2. Change the value in the "Suppress Extra Difficulty Damage=0" line to 
             "Suppress Extra Difficulty Damage=1". This removes the 150% and 200% increases to monster damage and 
             EXP on the hard and insane difficulty settings.
